ARMENIAN ACTORS UNION

The Armenian Actors Union non-governmental non-profit organization was formed in 2000. AAU was granted by Stichting Caucasus Foundation (The Netherlands) for co organizing first in Armenia seminar in theatre management: “Management and new Technologies in the Performing Arts” /March 2001, and by Benevolent Fund for Culture Development (Armenia) for co organizing first in Armenia International Mime Festival “Nazenik”/September 2001.

AAU supports Armenian actors in their professional work and education, supports Armenia in the process of integration between European countries in the field of culture, sets up and implements programmes and events in art and culture for professional artists in order to promote open and a democratic society within our country.

To realize the general mission, “Armenian Actors Union” coordinates important cultural events in Armenia; promotes mutual rapprochement between artists residing in Armenia and Caucasus; implements joint projects with different countries; introduces modern methodologies and new approaches in the system of education, supports the creative initiative and self – assertion of young artists, creates one cultural space for performing arts management.

During 3 years of its existence the Union has implemented several cultural projects:

4-10 October 2001 - First International Mime Festival “Nazenik”
September 2002 - Seminar “Management and marketing in Performing Arts” in Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema
July 2002 – 3 students of Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema were sent to Belgrade to participate in Summer Art School Program
November 2002 - Seminar “International cooperation in the Arts” in Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema
2-9 October 2003 - First International Theatre Festival “HIGH FEST”.

AAU has laid a constant foundation for organizing international theatre festivals, which apparently becomes a good tradition in our country.

AAU is a member of CAMN /Caucasian Art Managers Network/, ASSITEJ /International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People/.

STICHTING CAUCASUS FOUNDATION / BUREAU FOR CAUCASIAN CULTURAL PROGRAMES (BCCP/ARMENIA)

The Stichting Caucasus Foundation is based in the Netherlands and has its offices in Yerevan Tbilisi and Baku (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan). SCF supports Caucasian countries in the process of integration between European countries in the field of Culture. The Foundation carries out various cultural joint projects in Caucasian countries to extend the democratic processes and to consolidate social relations within the region of the Caucasus. To realize the general mission, Bureau for Caucasian Cultural Programmes - BCCP/Armenia was created by SCF. The BCCP head office is in (Yerevan) Armenia. Through different programs implemented in the sphere of arts and culture the Bureau stimulates the development of various spheres of Armenian national culture. The main goal of SCF/BCCP- Armenia is to promote Worldwide Culture in Armenia and Armenian Culture in other countries in the world.

SCF/BCCP-Armenia is a member of National Centres of ASSITEJ (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People), IETM (Informal European Theatre Meeting), ITI (International Theatre Institute) and is linked with CONCEPTS (The CONCORTIUM for the CO-ORDINATION of EUROPEAN PERFORMANCE THEATRE STUDIES), ENCATC (European Network for Cultural Administration and Training Centres), Council of Europe Forum of International Cultural Networks.

NATIONAL PROGRAMMES OF SCF/BCCP-ARMENIA
EDUCATION PROGRAMME

The goal of the National Educational programme is to serve the broader region, seeking to improve education, establish new specialization's through inviting qualified and experienced teachers and professors, in such areas as politics of culture, international co-operation in culture, affairs and management of culture etc.

It will also seek to arrange open classes and training for artists.

MANAGEMENT CENTER

The main goal of the management center is to set up training courses for managers and undertake the creation of a management network in the Caucasus, which will be linked up to international cultural centers, organizations and networks, that encourage organizational skills introducing modern management methodologies through holding meetings at both Caucasian and international levels.

INFORMATION CENTER

The goal of the information center is to establish an information bank, exchange Caucasian and European data, and provide independent sources of information for Caucasian region, setting up a database with information on cultural institutes and their activities in the region.

PUBLISHING PROGRAMME

Publishing programme will encourage and promote publishing activities, seeking support for publication or books brochures, albums, magazines, directories, which promotes a new way of thinking in the region. It will encourage the preservation and documentation of various areas of cultural heritage through the printing of small publications on cultural events in the Caucasian region. It will also print of the proceedings of seminars, workshops and international symposia, translation facilities.

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES

The Programme is based on the exchange mechanisms - organizing of international co-operation, organizing seminars, workshops, festivals, master classes etc; exchange programmes with cultural institutes in Europe. Programme supports the development of independent media in Armenia and Caucasus. The SCF/BCCP-Armenia is also a representative body of Gulliver Clearing House (GCH) in Armenia.

SCF/BCCP-Armenia is the best partner for cultural cooperation in Armenia and the Caucasus in a whole, and can assist the art practitioners in the promotion of worldwide culture in Armenia in the spheres of Art, Performing Arts, Music, Movies, and Literature etc.
